Touring America’s Most Incredible Homes—and Sharing the Details That Make Them Work
I’m Timothy P. Livingston, a home-tour creator, publisher, and unapologetic home-design nerd.
Since launching my YouTube channel in 2019, I have toured more than 500 homes across the United States, including custom homes, luxury estates, modern farmhouses, modular homes, manufactured homes, cabins, and truly one-of-a-kind properties.
Some have been beautifully practical. Others have been completely over the top. A few have made me question every decision I have ever made about my own house.
Through it all, my goal has remained simple: to help people discover incredible homes, notice the details that matter, and make better decisions about their own spaces.
Today, the Timothy P. Livingston community includes more than 630,000 followers across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Together, we explore everything from dream kitchens and hidden pantries to unusual floor plans, smart building features, luxury upgrades, and the occasional design choice that starts a very spirited conversation.
How It Started
This journey did not begin inside a multimillion-dollar mansion.
It started with a camera, a curiosity about homes, and a willingness to ask builders, dealerships, homeowners, and real estate professionals if I could walk through their properties and share them with an audience.
The first tours focused heavily on manufactured and modular homes. As the channel grew, so did the homes.
One opportunity led to another, and before long, I was traveling across the country to tour custom homes, luxury properties, modern farmhouses, mountain retreats, lake houses, and estates filled with features I had never seen before.
The homes have changed dramatically over the years, but the curiosity that started the channel has not.
I still walk into every property asking the same questions:
What did they do well?
What would I change?
Which features look impressive but may not be practical?
Which ideas could someone realistically borrow for their own home?
And what makes this property different from every other home on the market?
More Than a Walk-Through
A home tour should be more than a camera moving from one room to another.
When I tour a property, I try to look beyond the finishes and imagine what it would actually feel like to live there.
I pay attention to how the kitchen connects to the living areas, whether the pantry is in the right location, how guests move through the home, where clutter would collect, and whether the most expensive features would genuinely improve everyday life.
I look at how groceries travel from the garage to the kitchen. I notice whether the primary suite feels private. I think about where furniture would go, how natural light enters a room, and whether a beautiful space would still be comfortable on a normal Tuesday evening.
I also pay attention to the smaller details that are easy to overlook:
Where the electrical outlets are placed.
Which direction the doors swing.
How much storage is actually available.
Whether the laundry room is located where the laundry happens.
How one room connects to the next.
Whether the outdoor living spaces feel like part of the home.
Those details may not always create the biggest reaction during a tour, but they often determine how well a house functions once someone moves in.
What I Look for in Every Home
After touring hundreds of homes, I have learned that the most memorable features are not always the most expensive ones.
Sometimes it is a hidden pantry positioned perfectly between the garage and kitchen.
Sometimes it is a laundry room connected directly to the primary closet.
Sometimes it is a wall switch for the fireplace, electrical outlets hidden beneath the upper cabinets, or a café window connecting the kitchen to the patio.
I also notice when a floor plan creates unnecessary steps, when a room feels oversized without being useful, or when an expensive upgrade looks impressive but may be difficult to maintain.
Seeing so many different homes has helped me recognize patterns.
Certain features consistently make everyday life easier. Others look great in photographs but do not always make sense once you think about how the home will actually be used.
That is the perspective I bring to every video and article.
I am not here to tell you that every luxury feature is worth the money or that every popular trend belongs in your home. I am here to show you the possibilities, point out the details, share what I have learned, and let you decide what belongs in your own dream home.
